Does size matter?

I love that Marigold Over Lunch attracts sell-out crowds, but I yearn for a more interactive format that allows for discussion among all attendees. Instead of a keynote speaker, we would facilitate conversations with a group of 20-25 women over lunch, addressing broad issues of interest with permission to get off topic.

We have such a vast pool of knowledge among the women of our region, I want to find a way to share our expertise, experiences and findings as we all "bob and weave" through the ups and downs of being career women.

Not to worry, Marigold Over Lunch will continue, and keep growing. These new smaller format events will be a new offering. Please post your thoughts on this idea, as well as topics of interest and suggestions for what to call them.

Yes, I do think these smaller groups would be a terrific idea; the larger gatherings can be difficult to navigate. Here are a couple of ideas:
Developing multiple revenue streams to guard against a downturn in the economy for the small business owner.
Creating a "work of mouth" referral network outside business groups.
Marketing vs advertising.
Dress for success for the 45+ woman.
"Rise above the competition" by focusing on your branding.

The temptation of titling the smaller groupings "Does Size Matter?" is great, but I bow to wiser minds. Yes, please let's mix and match sizes of get-togethers; so far I haven't been able to attend more than one or two (school, caregiving), but some of them have been intimidating. Ideas for smaller groups? I like Joann Sondy's 'marketing vs. advertising,' as well as the 'developing multiple revenue streams'. A potential one from my life would be how to follow up on contacts without making them feel harassed (how many times to call before I give up and move on, in other words). Brainstorming non-traditional places to "market/advertise" would help me, and possibly others, too. Thanks!

I love this idea and have a lot of topics to share.
1. Self Care for women who do too much.

2. 5 winning ways to improve morale in any organization.

3. The value of strategic alliances, so much more than tradtional networking

4. Get Known Now - Marketing for "Solo" Preneurs

5. Leave the Job that is Killing Your Soul.

I have material prepared for each of these topics if you have an interest.
