i LOVE working with Lyndsay Hicks, the owner of Auntie Pasta's/Zio's. Her and her staff are a joy to work with. You can tell something about an owner by the way the employees act. Everyone seems to have a good time and are always ready to greet you with a smile. The food has stepped up a notch since Lyndsay and her husband, TJ, took over. i appreciate working with a professional like her!
Well, there are just so many great businesses in this area...but I will choose just one to list right now.
Shelley Desmond, Show Offs Mobile Pet Grooming. 231-620-5518
My dog Dawson is my baby and Shelley treats him as if he is her own, and he loves her. She is so caring, careful and gentle.
The service that she offers is invaluable in helping to save me time which is ALWAYS a plus!
Call her!
I enjoyed working with Wendy at Ella's on Front Street. She has fun with clothes and was a pleasure to work with when I recently had to put something together to wear to a wedding.

I love Bon Fitte in downtown TC.....MarySue Schade and her staff know how to treat a lady! Not only do they know all about "fitting", but they make you feel attractive and special no matter what your body type or age. And, MarySue's humor keeps you entertained. You will walk out of this store with a smile on your face. Carol
Love the new owners at Bardon's!
I love Randy's at Eighth and Union (no, have never been to Cass and Airport location). No seating, no Muzak, no pretty pictures on the wall -- just knowledgeable car repair people. Warning for those who did not work at a similar gas station in high school: Some of them are a bit brusque, but they know their stuff. Appointments usually necessary.
I love James C. Smith who is a jeweler on Front Street in Traverse City. He greets you with such a warm smile and no matter what you spend whether it's fifty dollars or thousands he treats you like a million bucks! He also does some fabulous custom work and will work around your budget. If you don't know James you need too!
Some of my favorite local businesses with great customer service:
- Mary's Kitchen Port
- Paesano's Pizza
- Oryana Food Co-op
- Grand Traverse Pie Co. (thanks for letting us in after you'd closed for the day!)
- Garden Goods - owners Julie and Gordy Sovereign are the best.
- Cold Stone Creamery (they sing while they're scooping ice cream!)
- Huntington Bank (their customer service is the best - shout-out to Tamara DePonio for all you do!).
